Friday – 22 January 2027

• Friday afternoon/early evening arrival to settle into accommodation (booked separately)
• 6:30 p.m. — Welcome reception introduces the programme of activities

Saturday Evening Dinner

Venue for the Saturday evening formal dinner will be announced shortly.

Dress Code

Dress code throughout the days is suggested as smart casual. Smart for the Friday night dinner and Black tie for the Saturday night dinner.

Travel

Dartmouth House, home of The English-Speaking Union, is an elegant mansion set in the heart of London’s Mayfair, located just minutes from Berkeley Square, Bond Street and Green Park.

Trains

London is served by multiple mainline train terminus such as Waterloo, King’s Cross, St Pancras, Victoria, Paddington etc which will provide access to the London underground.

The nearest underground station to Dartmouth House in Mayfair, London, is Green Park Station, which is just a 5-minute walk (about 450 meters) away. Bond Street and Oxford Circus stations are also nearby.

Air

Whether arriving at Heathrow, Gatwick, London City, or Luton Airport, guests can access trains, taxis, the London Underground, or private transportation services to arrive at Dartmouth House.

Car

Central London operates a congestion charge zone between the hours of 7am to 10pm daily, excluding Christmas Day. The current daily charge when entering the zone is £18. There is also a £12.50 ULEZ charge.

Parking

There is no parking available via Dartmouth House.

The Chesterfield Hotel, next door, provides a valet service with a charge of £75 for 24 hours via its concierge. When you request your car to be returned, please allow 20 minutes for retrieval. Please also provide your time of arrival upon booking.

Alternatively, there are several National Car Parks (NCP) locally and the height restriction is 1.9 metres.

Accommodation

There are several rooms held at The Chesterfield Hotel, Mayfair https://chesterfieldmayfair.com/ for guests attending the symposium.

There are plenty of hotels with a range of budgets within convenient distance of Dartmouth House.

The Chesterfield Hotel has a 24-hour concierge service and is also a pet-friendly hotel.

Accessible Features & Amenities

The Symposium will have exclusive access to Dartmouth House throughout the weekend, making use of rooms over multiple floors.

There is no lift access in the venue, however, if anyone requires assistance moving between floors, access can be obtained via The Chesterfield Hotel Mayfair next door. Please inform the organisers in advance if you require assistance so this can be arranged.
